Kids

You do everything to ensure your baby’s health. During pregnancy you eat right, you avoid drugs, cigarettes and alcohol, and you take your childbirth classes, so you may have a safe, healthy delivery. After the baby arrives, you strive to breastfeed - knowing that is the superior form of nutrition; you do everything you can to make sure your baby is healthy. But, have you had their spine checked?  Did you know that spinal mis-alignments can have a huge effect on their developing nervous system?

There are at least six times in a baby’s first year of life that they should have their spines checked:

  • After the birth process
  • When your baby starts to hold his/her head up
  • When your baby sits up
  • When your baby starts to crawl
  • When your baby starts to stand
  • When your baby starts to walk

As your baby becomes a child there are many “little” accidents that can cause a mis-aligned (or "subluxated") spine that one day becomes a more serious problem as they become older. A fall off of the swing set causing a pelvic subluxation later could become scoliosis. The fall off of the skateboard could become the chronic digestion problem because of the pinched nerves that control the stomach come from the area of the spine that was damaged from the injury.

Not every child needs chiropractic care, but every child should at least be checked periodically as he/she is growing up to insure a healthy spine and nervous system. This can prevent many health problems that adults seek chiropractic for every day that started when they were children.
